Twine Urban Winery closed for repairs after car crashed into the building

KALAMAZOO, Mich. — A winery is closed for repairs after a car crashed into it on Sunday.

Twine Urban Winery on Portage Street near Washington Avenue had to evacuate on Sunday after a person drove into the front of the building just before 1 p.m. causing “significant structural damage,” according to Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety (KDPS) officers, and the owner, Nicole Triplett, said they will have to stay closed for repairs.

Triplett heard the crash first then saw the car on the patio.

“I really couldn’t believe it,” Triplett said. “I was really just shocked and I froze for a moment. I didn’t know what to think.”…
