ROANOKE COUNTY, Va. (WDBJ) – The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has released a mapping application featuring new, preliminary flood maps for the Roanoke County region, according to a county spokesperson. Roanoke County residents are encouraged to review the updated maps to identify any changes affecting their property and to submit comments or appeals to FEMA before the maps are finalized this spring.
Roanoke County will hold two open house meetings to answer questions about the new FEMA flood maps and how they may affect future development.
