History Made as UWG Men’s Golf Wins First Team Title in Division I Era

SAVANNAH, Ga. – A historic day unfolded on Sunday in Savannah as the UWG men’s golf team won their first team title in the Division I era, completing a comeback that started seven shots back with a final round 299 to win the Savannah Intercollegiate by two strokes.

West Georgia also had an individual medalist for the first time as a Division I program as sophomore Milton Wallin shot a final round 73 to tie for first place.

On a day where strong, gusty winds had scores up by five strokes on average, the Wolves shot the low round of the day, an 11-over 299, to erase a seven-stroke deficit and climb from seventh to the top of the leaderboard.
