Chicago’s Gold Coast – A quiet Friday night in the upscale neighborhood shattered when a domestic dispute led to gunfire near a residential block.

Police responded to reports of a shooting around 10:14 p.m. in the 100 block of West Maple Street. The incident stemmed from a domestic-related argument between a man and a woman that quickly turned physical. During the altercation, a handgun appeared, and a single shot rang out.[1]

Responders found a 40-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound to his left foot. Chicago Fire Department paramedics provided immediate care at the scene before transporting him to Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Doctors listed his condition as good, indicating no life-threatening injuries.

Suspect in Custody with Firearm License

Authorities took 27-year-old Eboni Evans into custody at the location, which stood near her home. Prosecutors charged her with aggravated battery by discharging a firearm. Records showed Evans held a valid concealed carry license at the time.[1]…
