AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — The BSA Health System has installed a new Positron Emission Tomography/Computed Tomography (PET/CT) scanner to expand the hospital’s diagnostic imaging capabilities.
According to officials at the BSA Health System, the new PET/CT scanner will improve access to medical technology for patients in the community. Officials noted the scanner combines metabolic imaging with detailed anatomical imaging to allow physicians to more accurately detect, diagnose, and monitor conditions such as cancer, heart disease, and neurological disorders.
The scanner provides clearer images, faster scan times and improved patient comfort compared to previous imaging technology.
