Fort Worth, Texas – The Fort Worth Park & Recreation Department is calling on community members to step up and serve as volunteer youth sports coaches for upcoming recreational leagues, emphasizing the powerful role volunteers play in shaping positive experiences for young athletes.
Officials say volunteer coaches help create a fun, safe, and encouraging environment where children can learn teamwork, sportsmanship, and confidence while developing lifelong skills. The department stresses that no prior coaching experience is required. Training, guidance, and ongoing support are provided to ensure volunteers feel prepared and supported.
“Our volunteer coaches are the backbone of our youth sports programs,” said Isaiah McFadden, youth sports coordinator. “They help create a safe, supportive space where kids can learn the fundamentals of sports, build confidence and develop lifelong skills. Whether you have coached before or are brand new, we provide the tools and training to help you succeed.”
