On Tuesday February 17, 2026, Collinsville High School administration received reports of a possible student walk-out being planned for Wednesday, February 18, in response to recent immigration enforcement events across the United States.
Seeing this opportunity as a teachable moment to support civil discourse and respectful engagement, CHS administrators convened student organizers to hear their intent and discuss how the students could express their views in a safe, respectful and peaceful manner. Students who wished to participate were not penalized academically or disciplined.
