Kara Braxton, former WNBA champion and Oregon prep standout, dies at 43

BEAVERTON, Ore. (KPTV) — Kara Braxton, a two-time WNBA champion and former league All-Star, has died at the age of 43.

Braxton was drafted into the WNBA in 2005 and went on to win two championships with the Detroit Shock. She was also selected as a league All-Star during her professional career.

Before her professional career, Braxton was a standout at Westview High School in Beaverton, where she led the program to success. She went on to star at the University of Georgia.
