A man is in the hospital with life-threatening injuries after a shooting Monday night in the Deer Valley area of north Phoenix, turning a routine weeknight into a crime scene near one of the city’s busiest freeway interchanges.
According to AZFamily, Phoenix police were called out around 8:45 p.m. to the area of 27th Avenue and Rose Garden Lane, just northwest of the I-17 and Loop 101 “North Stack”. Officers found a man who had been shot at least once and rushed him to a local hospital, where he was listed with life-threatening injuries. Detectives remained at the scene working to sort out what led to the gunfire.

In 2022 Phoenix police rolled out a proposal to install cameras and gunshot-detection technology along the corridor after reporting an increase in gunshot calls, according to ABC15.
