(WXIN/WTTV) — A former Indianapolis police officer has been sentenced to over 70 years in prison after admitting to molesting a young girl and recording her with a hidden camera.
Kamal Bola, 36, was found guilty last month in Hendricks County on charges of child molesting, sexual misconduct with a minor, voyeurism and obstruction of justice. On Tuesday, he was sentenced to 72 years in prison and three years of probation.
A former officer with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, Bola had been with IMPD for six years before his arrest in September 2024. The arrest came after a 14-year-old girl spoke to the Hendricks County Sheriff’s Office and made sexual assault accusations against Bola.
Hidden camera found
The girl was reportedly cleaning her room when she found a small digital camera hidden on a bookshelf. Prosecutors said the victim told her mother about the camera, who then confronted Bola.
An IMPD officer at the time, Bola admitted to purchasing the camera and could not give a good answer as to why it was in the child’s room. The mother then went to the police in Hendricks County, causing Bola to reportedly destroy one of the cameras he’d purchased…
