Bank impersonation scam targets West Michigan, arrest made

KENT COUNTY, MI – A fraudster has been arrested after allegedly scamming West Michigan residents for their bank account information by calling them and pretending to be their financial institution.

The primary suspect in the case was recently arrested in Florida after a month-long investigation that crossed state lines, according to a Feb. 20 news release from Douglas Police Department in Georgia.
