South Nashville Driver Arrested After Murfreesboro Pike Shooting

Drivers on Murfreesboro Pike in south Nashville suddenly found themselves in the middle of a shooting Monday, as a 56-year-old man allegedly opened fire on passing vehicles, according to police. Witnesses told officers they saw rounds strike multiple cars, turning a busy roadway into a crime scene. When officers arrived, they found the suspect lying on the right shoulder with a handgun nearby, and crews shut down the stretch of road while detectives collected evidence.
