Providence firefighters trudge through snow to reach those needing help

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Providence firefighters didn’t let the historic blizzard on Monday keep them from helping those in need.

“Nearly 38 inches of snow and an unusually high call volume made [Monday]’s storm one of the more challenging responses our firefighters have faced,” Fire Chief Derek Silva said.

“Firefighters often had to park apparatus and trudge through deep snow to reach those who needed help,” he continued.
