From utility boxes to museum galleries, Cape Coral’s art scene is increasingly visible in everyday places. Public art is turning ordinary corners into landmarks that residents recognize and love.
Along SE 47th Terrace in South Cape, even the utility boxes have become canvases. Through the South Cape Utility Box Beautification project, 15 boxes are wrapped with colorful designs by local artists, featuring themes from native wildlife to nightlife and Cape Coral history. The project, led by the Community Redevelopment Agency, was created to elevate the streetscape and weave art into the daily experience of people who live, work, and visit in the South Cape.
Drivers and pedestrians along SE 47th Terrace also encounter a striking piece of public art in the roundabout, reinforcing the corridor’s feel as an arts and entertainment destination.
