LINN COUNTY, Iowa (KCRG) – A Coralville man was charged Tuesday with operating while intoxicated after driving the wrong way on Highway 100 and hitting a Linn County deputy’s vehicle head-on earlier this month.
69-year-old Scott Rohwedder was charged with operating while intoxicated, a second offense and aggravated misdemeanor. He was also ticketed Monday with driving in an improper lane and failure to obey a traffic control device.
On February 4, a Linn County deputy spotted Rohwedder’s Dodge Dakota traveling west in the eastbound lanes of Highway 100 near Edgewood Road at 7:40 p.m. The deputy crossed the median and attempted to stop Rohwedder, at one point kicking his vehicle, but Rohwedder continued driving until he hit the deputy’s SUV head-on on the Highway 100 bridge over the Cedar River…
