Two teens arrested following vehicle burglaries in Church Point

CHURCH POINT, LA. (KLFY) — Two teens were arrested in connection with vehicle burglaries that occurred on Wimberly Street in Church Point, officials said.

Officers identified Kevin Scott, 17, of Church Point and Herbert Dugas, 17, of Rayne as the suspects connected to the investigation and brought them into custody. Scott was charged with two counts Simple Burglary of a vehicle and Criminal Trespassing while Dugas is faces the charges of two counts Simple Burglary of a vehicle Criminal Trespassing, officials said.

Upon their arrival to the scene on Feb. 14, officers learned from witnesses a description and location of where suspects ran to. One of the suspects was caught hiding in the restroom at a nearby high school’s visitor side restroom then place under arrest, while the second suspect was later identified and arrested on Feb. 23…
