Former England assistant principal enters court plea on rape, grooming charges

LONOKE COUNTY, Ark. – The former assistant principal of the England, Arkansas, high school was in court on Monday to enter his plea against charges of rape and sexual grooming of a child.

Officials said Trent Morgan entered a not guilty plea to both charges. Morgan was arrested in November 2025 following what officials said was a police investigation into sexual misconduct involving a 14-year-old male student.

Morgan resigned his position with the school shortly after his arrest. Prior to his arrest, the England School District listed him as its principal of student services, ALE director, and EHS Coach. Lonoke County authorities confirmed he is a basketball coach at EHS.
