Man sentenced for deadly Midtown Omaha shooting

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – A man who pleaded no contest in a deadly shooting in midtown will spend more than a decade behind bars.

A judge sentenced Darnell Marion-Jones Tuesday morning to 29 years in prison. Under Nebraska’s good time law, he could get out after about 15.

Prosecutors originally charged him with first-degree murder for his role in the 2024 death of Cameron Watkins. He later took a plea deal, pleading no contest to manslaughter.
