Newberg-area fire destroys log home, RV; residents safe

While Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue firefighters were able to extinguish a four-story log home engulfed in flames Saturday, Feb. 21, in the 21900 block of Southwest Hillsboro Highway, the fire made the home inhabitable and destroyed an accompanying RV.

The incident was reported at 12:38 p.m., with 911 calls reporting black smoke and flames coming from the home located in unincorporated Washington County, a few miles north of Newberg.
