Brandyn Hillman talks Michigan departure: ‘Never had a normal year’

Brandyn Hillman praised the University of Michigan for helping him grow as a father and person, but his three years in Ann Arbor became, well, too much.

In his first public interview since transferring to Virginia, the former Wolverines defensive back told the UVA-affiliated “The 5th Side” podcast that he “never really had, like, a normal year there.”

“Yeah, I won a (national title) my freshman year, that was cool, but then we got hit with the cheating scandal and went through everything,” Hillman said. “I never had a normal year to just be like, ‘I’m home, I’m settled.’…
