A Cumberland County jury found an Army veteran guilty of murder this month in a dispute on social media that ended in the death of Carlos Brown, a Fayetteville rapper who J Cole has publicly said gave him his start.
Joshua Tashun Joyce, 42, was sentenced Feb. 6 to 20 to 25 years in prison for fatally shooting Brown, 45 — known as Filthe Ritch (“The rich is silent,” he often said) — one half of the rap duo Bomm Sheltuh alongside Brion Unger, aka Nervous Reck.
