New details of ambush shooting of Upstate officer, deputy-involved incident released

GREENVILLE, S.C. (WSPA) — New details of events that followed a January ambush shooting that injured an officer with the Greenville Police Department were released Wednesday morning.

On Jan. 11, 42-year-old David William Lane reportedly ambushed Officer Giordano Alberto while he was sitting in his patrol vehicle outside the Greenville County Law Enforcement Center on McGee Street before 2 a.m.
