Knoxville man arrested on numerous charges after multi-agency chase

KNOXVILLE, Tenn — According to arrest records from the Knox County Jail, a man is facing numerous charges after a chase involving multiple agencies on Feb. 21.

Officers attempted to stop James Calvin Myers on East Governor John Sevier Highway at French Road around 2 a.m. for making an improper U-turn after observing a police checkpoint, according to records, and for having illegal window tint.

According to the arrest records, Myers initially pulled over, then sped away and led officers on a chase. He reportedly failed to stay in the proper lane, drove into oncoming traffic multiple times, ran stop signs and red lights, and sped in excess of 50 miles over the limit…
