LANCASTER, Pa. — Lancaster City Council has paused a plan to seize private property for a long-awaited pedestrian and bicycle project after city officials were able to make contact with the building’s owners.
Council members voted Tuesday night to table a measure that would have allowed the city to move forward with eminent domain proceedings for a small portion of property at 828 S. Prince Street. The building appears vacant, with bars covering its doors and windows.
