A man was found fatally shot yesterday on Bethel Island, turning a stretch of Dutch Slough Road into an active homicide scene, authorities said.
Deputies were dispatched to the 3200 block of Dutch Slough Road at about 8:50 PM, where they discovered a man lying in the roadway with a gunshot wound. Deputies and firefighters tried life-saving measures, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
What the sheriff’s office says
According to CBS San Francisco, deputies from the county’s Delta Station were called to the scene and began life-saving efforts until the fire department arrived. Detectives from the Sheriff’s Homicide Unit and the county crime lab responded as the office opened a homicide investigation.
