(KRON) — A person who fell from a cliff on Tuesday in the Devil’s Slide area south of Pacifica has died, the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office said.
Specialized rescue crews from Cal Fire CZU responded at 11:45 a.m. to Gray Whale Cove State Beach on the report of a person who fell from a cliff. Witnesses told authorities that the person may have experienced a medical emergency, according to the sheriff’s office.
Highway 1 was shut down in both directions before reopening around 1 p.m.
