City adopts Comprehensive Speed Management Plan

The City of San Diego has released its Comprehensive Speed Management Plan, a citywide strategy to reduce vehicle speeds and support the Vision Zero goal of ending traffic deaths and serious injuries. The plan received unanimous approval from the Active Transportation and Infrastructure Committee.

The plan uses data to identify areas where speed limits can be lowered under state law. Safety corridors were identified in Pacific Beach, La Jolla, Carmel Valley, Del Mar Heights, Torrey Pines, and Pacific Highlands Ranch.
