WASHINGTON — Social Security beneficiaries already struggling to make ends meet should not count on a major increase to their benefits in 2027. That’s according to a cost-of-living-adjustment estimate released this month by the nonpartisan senior advocacy group, The Senior Citizens League.
The prediction calls for the 2027 COLA to come in at 2.8%, which is the same increase that beneficiaries received for 2026. The model uses current inflation and economic data to estimate the 2027 COLA and updates each month.
