After a chilly day and cold Tuesday evening with a mostly clear sky, get set for rapid hour-by-hour and day-by-day changes up next for all of Central & Upstate NY!

It’s part of our next weather makers:

A quick hitting area of widespread snow will move into the I-81 corridor around 1:00 AM Wednesday and mostly exit Central New York around 7:00 AM or so. Besides receiving snow, temperatures will climb to near 30 by daybreak Wednesday!

The most consistent snow showers will occur east of Lake Ontario. For the rest of Central New York, expect a breezy day with mostly cloudy skies and flurries. Some breaks of sunshine will also come out. During the afternoon, with daytime heating, I am expecting pop-up scattered precipitation to develop. I believe that a brief burst of snow, graupel and rain are all possible. Due to above freezing temperatures on the ground, a brief accumulation is possible and may cause travel trouble, but will likely melt off after some time…
