Heart disease in women: Small daily habits can make a big difference

WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – As February marks American Heart Month, a local cardiologist and a Wilmington woman are sharing how small, daily habits can help improve heart health.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), heart disease impacts more than 40% of women in the United States.

A personal wake-up call

Amber Graham, a wife and working mother of three children, said taking care of her heart was not always a priority amid the demands of daily life.
