A First Alert Weather Day is in effect as winter weather moves into the area this afternoon. A burst of snow will develop and intensify, bringing hazardous travel conditions, poor visibility and the potential for blowing and drifting snow.
What to Expect Today:
A short-lived burst of heavy snow will create difficult driving conditions. The Northwoods will see the most significant accumulation, with 1 to 3 inches of snow expected. The Fox Valley will receive lighter amounts, with 1 inch or less. Gusty winds will suddenly reduce visibility and creating blowing and drifting snow, especially on elevated terrain and open roads.
