Many Houston-area school districts plan to start classes the week of Aug. 10 for the 2026-27 school year, according to newly approved calendars.
Over the last few months, school boards have approved their instructional calendars for next school year. Most plan to reopen early or mid-August. Houston ISD will start classes Aug. 10, while other large districts like Conroe, Cy-Fair and Katy ISDs will start Aug. 12.
