NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – The city of New Orleans is auctioning off 150 vehicles as part of an effort to generate revenue and reduce costs amid a nearly $224 million budget deficit.
Chief Administrative Officer Joe Giarrusso said the city evaluated take-home and surplus vehicles as part of a broader cost-cutting effort.
“This has been a priority for Mayor Moreno since she got elected, making sure we’re streamlining government,” Giarrusso said. “One of them was getting rid of take home cars for people. The former CAO had one, I don’t have one anymore.”…
