Pryor police searching for inmate who escaped medical facility

Authorities are searching for a 36-year-old man who escaped custody while receiving medical treatment in Pryor.

Johnathan Cartwright escaped around 3:45 p.m. on Monday from a medical facility, according to law enforcement. Cartwright had been held by the Cherokee Nation Marshal Service at the Rogers County Jail before he was transported for treatment and placed under an Emergency Detention Order.

Officials said Cartwright faces the following original charges:

  • Fugitive from justice
  • Out-of-county hold
  • Child endangerment
