ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – There was a groundbreaking on Tuesday for the future Albuquerque trade port. It marks a big step for the I-40 trade corridor project aimed to connect the Port of Los Angeles to the rest of the country, with Albuquerque as a crucial through-point.
Project aimed at making Bernalillo County a major hub for trade launches
Global Logistics Development Partners is the private firm behind the port. It will be built near Mesa del Sol off I-25. The tradeport will serve as an overnight truck stop and cargo hub, where companies can store large amounts of freight, and hopefully draw in manufacturers to the area. It is not clear when construction will be completed.
