BAKERSFIELD, Calif.(KBAK/KBFX) — A woman accused of driving under the influence in a crash that killed a married couple in March 2025 is set to be arraigned next month after a Kern County judge found sufficient evidence linking her to the crime on Wednesday.
Anabell Correa, 22, faces 10 charges, including two counts of murder and several DUI-related charges, in the deaths of Desiree and Max Mooney. A judge also found several additional enhancements to be true, which could add time to Correa’s possible sentence.
Correa is accused of crashing into a rideshare vehicle, killing passengers Desiree and Max Mooney as they were returning home from a Saint Patrick’s Day celebration on March 16, 2025. The crash happened at Stockdale Highway and Gosford Road.
Max Mooney died at the scene. Desiree Mooney later died at the hospital. Another passenger in the vehicle and the rideshare driver were hurt…
