New York City is mourning the loss of a hip-hop pioneer. Oliver “Power” Grant, a founding member of the legendary Wu-Tang Clan, has passed away at the age of 52. The news was confirmed by the group on Wednesday, prompting an outpouring of tributes from fans and fellow artists alike.

“Rest in Power, Power,” the Wu-Tang Clan posted on X, echoing the sentiments of many in the music world.

Reports of Grant’s passing first emerged on Tuesday, with New York’s iconic hip-hop radio station Hot 97 and bandmate Method Man (Clifford Smith) sharing the somber news. “Paradise my Brother safe Travels!!” Method Man wrote, adding, “Bruh I am not ok.”
