Law Enforcement Executes Search Warrant at LAUSD Superintendent’s Home, District Headquarters
Los Angeles, CA – Authorities executed a court-approved search warrant Wednesday at the home of Alberto Carvalho, Superintendent of the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD), the nation’s second-largest school district. The U.S. Attorney’s Office in Los Angeles confirmed the action.
Sources familiar with the ongoing investigation, which remains under court seal, indicate the case involves white-collar crime and is not related to immigration matters. The search was reportedly conducted swiftly.
In addition to Carvalho’s residence, law enforcement activity was also reported at LAUSD headquarters. District officials released a statement affirming their cooperation with the investigation. “The District is cooperating with the investigation and we do not have further information at this time,” the statement read.
No arrests were made in connection with the searches at either Carvalho’s home or the district office. The investigation is ongoing, according to sources.
Carvalho has served as LAUSD Superintendent since 2022, making him the longest-serving superintendent for the district in over two decades.
