CLEVELAND (WJW) — Cleveland is in the Midwest, meaning already it’s more friendly than large cities on the coasts — hello, Midwest nice, a real studied phenomenon. But the folks at Nextdoor, a website that allows neighbors to connect and talk about the hyperlocal happenings, broke down the city a little more with its new “Friendliest Places to Live in Cleveland” list.

The top five neighborhoods on the list are not necessarily the “hottest” or “coolest” as decided by a survey but rather were compiled using Nextdoor’s own data. The more “positive community interactions” on the neighborhood’s page, the higher their friendliness score. Things like people speaking well of their neighborhood or offering free items or welcoming people to the group contributed to that score.

Here are the neighborhoods Nextdoor deemed the most friendly:

  • Puritas/ W. 150th
  • Euclid Creek
  • Variety Theater District
  • Wilson Mills/Lander
  • Lyndhurst near Cedar
