Amazon celebrated the opening of five new delivery stations across North Carolina on Wednesday, a move the company says will create more than 700 full- and part-time jobs statewide.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony and facility tour were held in Tarboro, where state and local officials, including Lt. Gov. Rachel Hunt and Deputy Secretary of Commerce Kenny Flowers, joined company leaders. Amazon also made a donation to the Tarboro Development Corporation during the event.
The new delivery stations are located in Tarboro, Jacksonville, Southern Pines, Mount Airy, and Hayesville. The openings are part of Amazonβs broader $4 billion investment in rural America aimed at expanding its delivery network and increasing same-day service availability in rural communities…
