Lucid slashes hundreds of East Bay jobs as electric car maker fights red ink

NEWARK — Lucid Group will slash hundreds of Bay Area jobs, a downsizing ushered in by billions of dollars in red ink that has stained the electric vehicle maker’s balance sheet.

Slated to occur on April 21, the company will eliminate 319 positions at its headquarters in Newark, Lucid reported to the state Employment Development Department in a WARN notice.
