Guilford County deputies charge man in connection with 14 vehicle break-ins

SUMMERFIELD, N.C. — A Guilford County man is facing dozens of charges after investigators linked him to a string of vehicle break-ins last month.

According to the Guilford County Sheriff’s Office, Joseph Gene Haswell, 33, was arrested after detectives connected him to multiple reports of unlocked vehicles being broken into on Feb. 18 and 19 along Strawberry Road and surrounding neighborhoods, as well as several miles away in neighborhoods off the 3200 block of N.C. 150 East.

Deputies said Haswell was found in possession of property taken during the break-ins. Detectives also determined he broke into an outbuilding at a Strawberry Road residence and stole additional property, which has since been recovered…
