During an inspection of Edmondson’s Lounge on February 24, the Philadelphia health department flagged the eatery with several violations. The findings included sanitation monitoring gaps and general cleanliness issues.

According to the report, Edmondson’s Lounge was found to be non-compliant with the food safety codes. Some of the violations are:
- The paper towel dispenser at the handwash sink was observed empty.
- Visible physical evidence of insect activity, specifically cockroaches, was observed in the bar area.
- A kick plate was missing on a reach-in cooler. A walk-in cooler located in the basement was also observed to be defective, the report said.
- The facility did not have sanitizer test strips available to monitor sanitizer concentration.
- The report mentioned that static dust accumulation was observed on fan covers inside the reach-in cooler.
- Static dust accumulation was seen on the ventilation vents inside the restroom area.
- The report noted that general floor cleaning was needed throughout the kitchen area.
