VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — A man convicted in the 2020 killing of a Virginia Beach woman has now been sentenced to life in prison.
Hagen Lawrence Roberts, 41, was sentenced on Wednesday to life plus five years behind bars, the maximum penalty, after being found guilty of first-degree murder and stabbing in the commission of a felony. The sentence was handed down by Circuit Court Judge Stephen C. Mahan following a three-day jury trial that concluded on Nov. 20, 2025.
