Early morning fire in northeast Amarillo causes significant damage to home

AMARILLO, Texas (KVII) — An early morning house fire in northeast Amarillo caused significant damage to a single-family home Tuesday, but no injuries were reported.

The Amarillo Fire Department responded at 4:17 a.m. to a reported structure fire in the area of Currie Lane and Northeast 20th Avenue, according to the Amarillo Fire Department.

When crews arrived at 2005 Currie Lane, they found active flames in the rear of the home extending into the attic. Firefighters reported the fire had burned through the roof on the back side of the structure…
