El Paso warm temperatures may break February all-time record high

Temperatures are climbing up to 15 degrees above normal in El Paso this week, and the Sun City could break the all-time record high for the month of February, according to the National Weather Service.

The warm weather will move in Tuesday, Feb. 24, with temperatures reaching a high of 79 degrees, and it will continue to get hotter — highs in the 80s are expected through the work week. Temperatures could break records with an expected high of 87 degrees on Saturday, Feb. 28.

Breezy to moderately windy afternoon winds are expected on Tuesday and Wednesday, with a few areas of blowing dust, but widespread low visibility is not expected, according to the National Weather Service.
