Mayor Helena Moreno announced her picks Wednesday to serve on the board of the Regional Transit Authority and said her vision for public transit in New Orleans will include greater regional cooperation and a renewed focus on equity and accessibility.
As mayor, Moreno has the power to appoint five of the seven RTA board members. Her administration gave notice to former Mayor LaToya Cantrell’s appointees on Tuesday that their last day of service would be Wednesday.
