Dorothy Prevost, the mother of one of the four Black girls who desegregated New Orleans’ public schools in 1960, died Friday. She was 94.
Prevost, who lived in LaPlace, died of kidney failure, her daughter Tory Prevost said.
“She loved people,” Tory Prevost said of her mother. “She was about social justice and equality and wanted the best for children.”…
