Teen to be tried as adult in deadly St. Paul stabbing

A 15-year-old boy accused of taking part in a deadly stabbing last year on St. Paul’s East Side will stand trial as an adult.

Court records show Jayden Andrew Carlson faces one count of second-degree murder in connection with the March 31 killing of 19-year-old Jay’Mier Keymari Givens. Carlson was 14 at the time of the killing and had previously been charged in juvenile court.

Another defendant in Givens’ murder, Jeremy Joe Davila, was sentenced last month to more than 25 years in prison after pleading guilty to second-degree murder…
