POLK COUNTY, OR — Oregon State Police are investigating a fatal two-vehicle crash involving a Salem-Keizer school bus that occurred Monday morning on Highway 22 at the intersection with Highway 51.
The Collision
According to investigators, the crash happened at 9:51 a.m. on Monday, February 23, 2026. A westbound Thomas school bus, driven by 33-year-old Chandra Jean Milkovich-Howard of Turner, attempted a left turn onto southbound Highway 51.
